The WWW, commonly known as the web, is an information system where documents and other web resources are identified by Uniform Resource Locators (otherwise known as URLs) which may be interlinked by hyperlinks, which can be accessed anywhere across the internet.

The WWW was designed originally as an interactive world of shared information through which people could communicate with each other and with machines.
